Business travelers making their way to appointments, whether to or from the airport or from the hotel to the office, have a new option for traveling in comfort and luxury after Uber for Business launched Uber Business Black.

The new feature, which is only available to employees of companies that sign up for Uber for Business, was launched on October 15, giving corporate travelers the opportunity for enhanced levels of comfort, legroom, flexibility, and customer support. The new ride type is an exclusive version of the existing Uber Black Experience that launched for all Uber users in 2019.

With Uber Business Black, travelers can expect to ride in comfortable, luxury cars, such as the Mercedes G-Class or the Rivian R1S, with each vehicle offering roomy leather interiors perfect for relaxing between meetings. Travelers can also have peace of mind that they’ll be getting a highly-rated professional driver with full commercial insurance.

Flexibility and On-Time Pickup Protection

The new service also promises extra flexibility, which can be of heightened importance to business travelers operating busy schedules.

Firstly, users will be offered on-time pickup protection when reserving a trip with Uber Business Black, providing passengers with Uber Cash compensation should the driver be late for the pickup.

For delays of more than 5 minutes after the scheduled pickup time, users’ Uber Wallets will be automatically topped up with the equivalent of $50, or $120 for waits of more than 8 minutes.

Users will also be provided with extra time at the point of pickup to allow for overrunning meetings or other mishaps, although per-minute wait times apply after the driver is waiting longer than 5 minutes at non-airport locations or 2 minutes at the airport.

Additional Services for Corporate Travelers

Corporate travelers can also plan entire travel itineraries with Uber Reserve, order rides on-demand should their plans change, or delegate their assistants to book and arrange rides for them.

Another perk exclusive to Uber Business Black users is access to a 24/7 customer support line for up to 72 hours after a ride, which can be used to help locate lost items or for any other queries. The service should also be simple for travelers to expense, with receipts automatically sent to the user’s email or to their expense provider should expense integration be enabled.

“Corporate leaders are navigating demanding schedules when they travel for work,” said Josh Butler, Global GM at Uber for Business. “They’re often attending high-stakes meetings or connecting at conferences, operating on tight timelines and in unfamiliar cities. They can’t afford to worry about their transportation.

“Uber Business Black is designed to improve the business travel experience and provide much-needed peace of mind. The new ride type combines the luxury and comfort executives need to unwind between meetings with the flexibility and convenience of Uber to ensure a smoother, more reliable experience.”
