American Express is set to open a new Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) next year. The new space, scheduled to open in the redeveloped Concourse B in 2025, is expected to be almost 16,000 square feet and include all the amenities expected from Amex’s renowned lounges.

The interior design will be inspired by Utah’s unique geography and topography while offering guests stunning views of the surrounding countryside. An outdoor terrace, equipped with seating options, heaters, and fans—so passengers can enjoy it year-round—will provide views over the airfield and the Wasatch Mountains beyond.

Inside, guests will have a choice of a range of seating options, including comfortable armchairs perfect for sitting back and relaxing, convenient seating near the bar and coffee station or around dining banquet tables, quiet workspaces, and a dedicated wellness room.

Culinary Offerings

Guests will also be looked after when it comes to food and drink. An award-winning chef will use fresh, local ingredients to serve hot breakfasts, main courses for lunch and dinner, and sides, salads, soups, and fresh desserts throughout the day.

Travelers will also have full access to a ‘Blue Roast by American Express’ coffee bar featuring espressos, cold brews, and specialty coffees. No less than two fully stocked bars will offer guests a wide range of alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages.

Centurion Lounge mixologist Jim Meehan will create a locally-inspired cocktail menu, while Centurion Lounge Wine Director and sommelier Anthony Giglio will select the wine list.

A taste of Salt Lake City

“American Express has strong roots in the Salt Lake City community,” said Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Travel. “It’s home to many of our colleagues and Card Members and a popular vacation destination for US and global Card Members.

“The new Centurion Lounge will give eligible Card Members a taste of what this beautiful destination has to offer and feature premium amenities for all types of travelers.”

Bill Wyatt, executive director of Salt Lake City International Airport, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the Centurion Lounge to The New SLC International Airport. Guests will enjoy what promises to be an inviting atmosphere to relax and refresh during their journey. We’re excited to work with American Express to bring this never before seen offering at SLC to life.”

Once its doors open in 2025, access to the new Centurion Lounge at SLC will be available to Amex card members with either a Centurion or Platinum-branded credit card. Complimentary access will also be extended to Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardmembers with a Delta Air Lines flight that day.

American Express has opened several Centurion Lounges worldwide this year and plans for more. In February, the world’s largest Centurion Lounge opened at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), while another opened at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in July.

Internationally, a brand-new Centurion Lounge opened at Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) earlier this month, while there are plans to open one at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (HND) next year.
