What is Delta's SkyMiles program?

All airlines these days have some form of frequent flyer programme and Delta is no exception with the SkyMiles loyalty scheme, allowing repeat customers to receive something back.

Passengers acquire points by spending money with Delta and their partner airlines, eating at selected restaurants and booking certain hotels. They can also be earned by shopping, as long as you use one of Delta’s many credit cards.

While many options are available, such as upgrades or experiences, using your miles for airfare generally represents the best value for money.

Building enough points means enrollment into the SkyMiles Medallion programme. Through this, Customers can take advantage of additional perks without using their miles. These range from earning extra points with every dollar spent, to complimentary first-class upgrades and waived baggage fees.

What are Delta Air Lines' baggage fees?

All passengers are allowed to bring a personal item and a carry-on bag. Anyone in the main cabin who wants to check in a bag can do so at the standard rate.

Complimentary bags

 Medallion or Skymiles American Express Card members can check in one bag for free.
 Delta Air Lines first-class, premium, and Delta One passengers can check in two bags free of charge.

Passengers can check in ten bags for flights with Delta Air Lines or any of their partners. This is limited to four for Delta Connection.

Overweight bags

Oversized bags
