American Express has joined forces with POINT.ME, a travel rewards platform that offers its card members an easier way to redeem Membership Reward points. This partnership allows cardmembers to search for and compare award flights from over 150 airlines.

This service is the first of its kind, as a major credit card provider has never offered this functionality directly to its customers. Although cardmembers cannot book through POINT.ME.

The platform provides step-by-step instructions to assist them in booking their preferred flight, including any necessary points transfers to other airline loyalty programs.

POINT. ME is a platform designed to help consumers maximize their travel points by democratizing the rewards space. Travelers can enter their origin city, destination, travel dates, and desired class of travel to see all the flights available for booking with their reward points and prices.

POINT.ME typically charges $12 per month or $129 per year for unlimited searches. However, American Express card members can now access the platform for free. They won’t even need to create a separate POINT. ME membership and can log in using their American Express credentials at https://amex.point.me/.

“We’re ecstatic to be connecting with American Express Card Members through ‘point.me for Membership Rewards points’,” said Adam Morvitz, CEO of POINT.ME.

“This partnership provides American Express Card Members with an easy way to search and compare the incredible airline loyalty transfer options offered through their Membership Rewards Program. It will help them find the best way to travel – from first and business class seats to dream trips for the entire family.”

Anthony Cirri, Executive Vice President of U.S. Consumer Product Management and Lending, said: “Whether traveling for business or planning a family vacation, we hope to create an easier, streamlined way for Card Members to plan their travels and make the most of their Membership.”

One catch: you’ll only see redemption options for your Amex points and not for the currencies of more than 30 other loyalty programs that POINT.ME searches. However, Amex has 21 transfer partners from which you can move points to your Membership Reward balance and vice versa.
