Air Canada is gearing up for a major expansion of its transatlantic services in 2025, introducing four new routes to popular European destinations, strengthening its presence in Europe, and offering more travel options to its customers.
Here’s what you can expect from Air Canada’s expanded network next year.
A Direct Link Between Capitals
The Canadian flag carrier is set to launch nonstop flights between Ottawa and London Heathrow, connecting the Canadian and UK capitals with four weekly flights starting in late March. This route marks a significant enhancement for travelers in Ottawa, providing them with direct access to one of the world’s busiest international hubs.
Flights from Ottawa to London will depart on Mondays, Thursdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with varying departure times between 6:40 PM and 8:55 PM. The return flights from Heathrow will leave at 2:05 PM on Mondays and Thursdays and at 12:40 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
These flights will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners and are set to run until October 25, 2025. This new route complements Air Canada’s existing services to London Heathrow from five other Canadian cities, offering a robust 63 flights per week next summer.
Montreal to Southern Europe
In the summer of 2025, Air Canada will further expand its European offerings by adding new routes from Montreal to Naples, Italy, and Porto, Portugal.
The new Montreal to Naples route will operate four weekly flights beginning May 16, departing from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport at 7:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and arriving in Naples at 9:30 AM the next day.
Return flights from Naples will depart at 11:15 AM, arriving back in Montreal at 2:35 PM. This service adds to Air Canada’s existing flights to Rome, Venice, and Milan, making it the fourth direct connection from Naples to North America.
Meanwhile, the Montreal to Porto route will launch on June 4 with four weekly flights. Departing from Montreal at 9:55 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, the flights will land in Porto at 9:45 AM the next day.
Return flights will leave Porto at 12:15 PM and arrive in Montreal at 2:35 PM. This route reintroduces a connection between Montreal and Porto, offering competition to Air Transat’s existing service and enhancing travel options for those heading to Portugal.
Toronto to the Czech Capital
Air Canada will also relaunch its service between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Václav Havel Airport Prague, a route that has been dormant for more than five years.
Starting June 6 and running until late September, the airline will operate three weekly flights using Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Flights will depart Toronto at 8:25 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, providing a convenient connection to the Czech capital.
This route will be the only nonstop connection between Prague and Canada and the second direct link between Prague and North America, alongside Delta‘s daily service from New York JFK.
