Delta has unveiled a new onboard experience for its Delta Premium Select customers, with a new inflight menu, hand-crafted amenity kits and “more dedicated service touchpoints.” Main courses are served on bagasse plates made from sugarcane plant fiber, with linen tableware and napkins, silver flatware and glassware.

The menus, which were introduced this month, include locally inspired dishes such as braised beef short rib with fingerling potatoes and dijon green peppercorn jus, or honey harissa chicken thighs with jollof rice and stewed greens.

Selections also include plant-based Impossible Meatballs with polenta, pomodorini sauce and broccolini, and for dessert, mango mousse with mango passion fruit compote.

“When designing our Delta Premium Select menu, we reimagined our food and beverage offerings from scratch,” said Mike Henny, managing director of onboard service. “We’re excited to launch delicious new offerings that also highlight our premium service and culture of innovation.”

As part of the enhanced service touchpoints, the new Premium Select experience also offers a new ‘bubbles and bites moments’ offered shortly after takeoff, which includes sparkling wine, water and a snack basket, and before the first meal, customers will receive a vanilla and orange peel oshibori hand towel.

Starting in October, Delta will phase in new handmade amenity kits by Mexican firm Someone Somewhere. The kits will come in three designs, beginning with a pink kit to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month on select flights leaving the US, and will feature natural skincare products from Grown Alchemist.

Premium Select customers will also enjoy amenities such as a memory-foam pillow, noise-canceling headsets and plush blanket made from recycled materials. The cabin offers more space with a wider seat, additional recline, and an adjustable footrest and leg rest on most long-haul international flights.

Delta introduced the Premium Select cabin in 2017 aboard its A350s on select transpacific and transatlantic routes. The airline has since expanded the product to more routes and aircraft types.
