Korean Air Lauded by Skytrax

The airline wins a global five-star rating

Korean Air has been designated as a five-star airline by Skytrax, an air transport rating organization headquartered in London, England.

Skytrax has evaluated and awarded the service quality of global airlines since 1999. The five-star rating recognizes the world’s best quality in aviation service.

Skytrax auditors travelled on Korean Air flights as mystery shoppers for three weeks. They evaluated the quality of customer service in all areas, including check-in counters, lounges, seating, in-flight meals, in-flight entertainment, cabin crew services and in-flight service items, among others.

The airline’s service competitiveness is based on its education programs for employees, comfortable seating such as first class Kosmo Suites 2.0 and an in-flight entertainment system that offers a variety of content. The airline also offers in-flight menus using seasonal ingredients and has selective wine lists, while continuing to introduce new services such as baggage loading notification system to improve customer convenience.

“It’s positive and meaningful news during this challenging time, and I’m sincerely proud of all our Korean Air employees who make this achievement possible,” said Keehong Woo, Korean Air’s president. “We continue to upgrade our aircraft and equipment to improve our customers’ experience and ensure safe and clean flights. Korean Air is ready for the new, post-COVID era.”
