This summer, Turkish Airlines is launching a new nonstop route between Istanbul and Denver to provide greater convenience and connectivity to travelers in both cities. This long-haul service will operate year-round and become Denver’s longest nonstop route, covering a distance of 6,130 miles, nearly 400 miles more than the current longest flight to Tokyo Narita International Airport by United Airlines and All Nippon Airways.

With this new service, Turkish Airlines will add Denver as its 14th destination in the United States and make it the fifth Star Alliance member to serve the city, alongside Air Canada, Copa Airlines, Lufthansa, and United.

Turkish Airlines will operate the new route with its Airbus A350-900 aircraft with a capacity of up to 316 passengers across Economy and Business Class.

The Business Class will offer fully-reclinable seats, travel amenity kits, and an in-flight menu of gourmet dishes prepared onboard by its ‘Flying Chefs.’

“We are very glad to celebrate yet another important gateway opening in the United States as we continue our mission of connecting more people and more destinations through our robust global route network,” said Fatih Durmaz, Vice President of Sales in the Americas at Turkish Airlines. “The Denver expansion represents our first-ever endeavor in the Rocky Mountains region of the United States as we increase our presence across the continent.”

According to Denver International Airport, passenger demand between Istanbul and Denver has increased by 50 percent since 2019, and it hopes this new direct connection will further boost demand for business and tourism.

“This is a historic announcement for the Mile High City and truly enhances Denver’s competitive position on the global stage,” said the Mayor of Denver, Mike Johnston. “The investment by Turkish Airlines will further strengthen our diversity, both commercially and culturally, and provide new opportunities for trade and travel.”

Denver residents now have the chance to explore Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. The new route will operate three times a week, starting on June 11, with an additional weekly flight added in July.

Turkish Airlines has a global network spanning over 300 destinations across six continents, giving passengers a range of options for their next travel destination.

Passengers with a layover in Istanbul may be eligible for the airline’s complimentary hotel stopover service, which offers free accommodation in the city. Business Class passengers with a layover of more than nine hours and Economy Class passengers with a layover of more than 12 hours are eligible for this service.

The outbound flights will depart Istanbul at 1:55 PM local time on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, arriving in Denver at 5:40 PM MDT. The return flights will leave Denver at 7:35 PM and return to Istanbul at 4:25 PM the following day.
