Hard Rock International’s first hotel in New York City has opened at 159 West 48th Street in the heart of Midtown Manhattan’s entertainment district, steps from Broadway theatres, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue.

The 446-room Hard Rock Hotel New York pays homage to The Big Apple’s legendary Music Row, offering live music in its public spaces. The two-story entertainment space The Venue is designed to host musical events, fashion shows and galas.

The Hard Rock Hotel New York is partnering with Audacy to host a state-of-the-art performance studio and entertainment hub for live events on the multi-platform internet and broadcast radio service.

Food and beverage outlets feature the upscale restaurant NYY Steak, in partnership with the New York Yankees, an all-day-dining venue called Sessions Restaurant and Bar and the 34th floor RT60 bar and lounge.

The Rock Shop carries Hard Rock merchandise, including memorabilia such as a leather motorcycle jacket owned and worn by Joey Ramone, a pair of silver patent leather boots worn by Lady Gaga, handwritten lyrics for John Lennon’s 1972 ode to his adopted home “New York City,” and custom outfits from Jay Z and Beyoncé.

The guestrooms feature music-inspired design in “striking blue tones and gold accents,” along with artwork that evokes musical instruments—such as guitars or horns—and music notes and sound waves flowing through the carpet patterns, as well as “iconic imagery of notable artists printed on glass doors.”

Hard Rock currently has 27 hotels and nine hotel and casino properties worldwide. The New York hotel joins existing US locations including Atlantic City, Hollywood, Orlando and San Diego. Last year, the hotel group launched its latest brand, REVERB by Hard Rock, with the premiere of the 195-room REVERB Downtown Atlanta.

“New York City is one of the greatest cities in the world and we are honored to open our doors to locals and travelers looking for a best in class hotel, dining, and entertainment experience,” said Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International.

“Hard Rock has had a presence for decades in the City,” Allen said. “But this location will deliver an entirely new experience from the brand that’s been synonymous with music and entertainment for over 50 years.”
