Passengers traveling with Emirates can now check in for their flight and drop their luggage off at a brand-new facility in the heart of Dubai’s financial district.

The Dubai-based airline opened the City Check-In and Travel Store in ICD Brookfield Place in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) on Thursday, April 27.

While the check-in center will have self-service kiosks and will be manned by Emirates’ attentive customer service agents, passengers can also find assistance from the world’s first-ever check-in robot assistant, named Sara.

Using state-of-the-art facial recognition technology, Sara can perform several tasks to aid passengers, such as matching their faces with their scanned passports, checking them into their flight, and guiding them to the baggage drop area.

Customers can also use the stylish new space to browse Emirates merchandise, get advice on travel opportunities and destinations on Emirates’ global network, and book air tickets.

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Dubai, close to the city’s iconic landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, the new facility is ideal for business and corporate travelers with little time to spare. In addition, professionals can head to the facility in their own time between meetings or sightseeing and then head to Dubai International Airport (DXB) and pass through to their gate without having to show their documentation again.

It will also give them more opportunities to discover the surrounding area without having to rush off to their flight. Emirates passengers with valid boarding passes can make use of several benefits at ICD Brookfield Place itself, such as complimentary or discounted access to a selection of restaurants, gyms, and luxury stores.

The new check-in area will be open every day between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM, and passengers can use the facility to check in as early as 24 hours before their flight departure and up to four hours before take-off. Traveling from DIFC to the airport is pretty simple, too, with abundant taxis, Emirates’ dedicated chauffeur service, or via the Financial Centre Metro Station, which is just a short walk away.

“Emirates City Check-In is our latest addition to the Emirates travel experience, showing our commitment to providing customers with an array of check-in options,” said Adel Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer at Emirates. “Our new location is the first ultra-convenient check-in and baggage drop facility conveniently located in the DIFC area. As a result, people can avoid busy periods at the airport and minimize queuing.

“We are pleased to collaborate with ICD Brookfield on this project and look forward to providing our customers with more technology-focused solutions in the future.”

Rob Devereux, CEO of ICD Brookfield, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Emirates City Check-In and Travel Store to ICD Brookfield Place, further enhancing our ecosystem as an attractive destination for workers, visitors, and residents.

“This exciting new addition will bring the convenience of city check-in to the central business district, allowing Emirates passengers more time to go about their daily routine, spend productive time at work, and enjoy the wonderful lifestyle Dubai has to offer.”
