On March 1, Taittinger Brut la Française, a Champagne from one of France’s most venerated houses, is coming to a Delta One cabin near you.

Indeed, Taittinger brings over a century’s worth of family-owned excellence to Champagne with a portfolio of award-winning expressions and classics. And now, Delta Air Lines is adding it to its Delta One portfolio.

The Taittinger Brut La Française expression is comprised of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier wines from at least 35 villages—the wine’s high proportion of Chardonnay (40 percent) is rare among fine nonvintage Champagnes and a defining characteristic of Taittinger.

The bubbly enjoys almost four years on the lees—more than double the legal minimum of 15 months. The additional time on the lees lends the Champagne a richer, rounder palate with notes of buttered biscuit and pie crust balanced by lemon zest, peach, and floral notes. It’s an absolute stunner of a bubbly, perfect for toasting to a new travel adventure at 35,000 feet.

“At Taittinger, we take great pride in sharing our Champagne with those who appreciate craftsmanship and elegance,” said Vitalie Taittinger, President of Champagne Taittinger. “This partnership with Delta – especially in such a milestone year – is a beautiful opportunity to bring our heritage to travelers around the world. Together, we are elevating the art of hospitality, one glass at a time.”

The fresh, vibrant flavor profile of Brut La Francaise pairs well with almost everything from popcorn and French fries to caviar and crudo. It will be an excellent choice with any seafood or chicken dish as well.

Kristen Manion Taylor, Delta’s S.V.P of inflight service, admires Taittinger’s reputation for excellence, “it mirrors our own, and we’re thrilled to partner with them as we elevate your travel experience,” she said.

Taittinger will be presented on the Delta One bar cart and offered as a pre-meal beverage on international flights. Like all Delta’s premium beverage offerings, it will be available throughout the flight.
