Delta Air Lines and American Express have brought back their popular Boeing 747 Delta SkyMiles Reserve Cards for a limited time only after receiving overwhelmingly positive customer feedback.
The credit card, launched in the summer of 2022, is now available to both new and existing Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card Members until June 5, while stocks last.
The stylish metal cards have a cloud-white finish and feature an image of the iconic Boeing 747 aircraft – nicknamed the ‘Queen of the Skies.’ The cards are even more special for aviation enthusiasts because they’re made with 33 percent metal from two retired Delta 747s.
The aircraft in question served Delta for over 27 years, and the cards also include a nod to their history, including the dates of their first and last ever flights, their tail numbers, and their total number of miles flown (66 and 65 million, respectively).
“At Delta, innovation and experience are at the core of everything we do,” said Prashant Sharma, Vice President of Loyalty at Delta Air Lines. “Each card carries the legacy of countless journeys and embodies the spirit of exploitation that drives our customers and all of us at Delta.
“When combined with the recently upgraded benefits, these cards provide a nod to our storied past and symbolize the elevated experiences our customers can expect in their future travels.”
Jon Gantman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cobrand Product Management at American Express, said: “We’re bringing back one of our most popular Card designs ever with a new look honoring the ‘Queen of the Skies.’
“Given the strong response from customers with our first Card design, we wanted to find another exciting opportunity for aviation enthusiasts and Card Members to have a piece of aviation history in their wallets.”
The new credit cards offer a range of benefits to Delta’s frequent flyers and SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card holders, enhancing their travel experience with the airline and providing great value for money every day.
Benefits include an enhanced Companion Certificate each year after renewal, allowing members to invite a friend or family member on an eligible round-trip to certain domestic, Caribbean, and Central American destinations.
The cards also provide an MQD Headstart, giving members a fast track to elite status, while they also provide priority access to exclusive restaurant reservations via the Global Dining Access scheme by Resy.
