Condor Airlines is set to launch a groundbreaking direct flight from Frankfurt (FRA) to the coastal destination of Los Cabos (SJD) in Mexico, beginning November 3, 2024.

This twice-weekly service, operating on Sundays and Wednesdays, will depart Frankfurt at noon and arrive in Los Cabos at 5:15 PM local time, while the return flight will take off from Los Cabos at 7:15 PM, arriving in Frankfurt at 2:35 PM the next day.

Covering a distance of 6,144 miles, this marathon flight—the longest in Condor’s network—is made possible by the airline’s new Airbus A330neo, featuring a total of 310 seats, including 30 business class seats, 64 extra legroom economy seats, and 216 economy seats.

Jens Boyd, Commercial Director at Condor, expressed his delight, stating, “Los Cabos is at the top of the bucket list for many Germans and has been on Condor’s list for some time.”

Boyd emphasized the unique travel experience the new A330neo will provide, including maximum comfort, advanced technologies, low fuel consumption, and a quiet flight.

Rodrigo Esponda, Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, highlighted the collaborative efforts that began in 2019, overcoming challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. He sees this historic flight as a catalyst for increased tourist arrivals to Baja California Sur, benefitting the entire state.

Unique Destination

Travelers who opt for this unique route will be greeted by the breathtaking landscapes of the Baja California peninsula, where the Gulf of California meets the Pacific Ocean. The region offers a wide range of attractions, from whale watching and diving trips to exploring the Cabo Pulmo nature reserve.

The city of Cabo San Lucas and the laid-back San José del Cabo provide charming streets, exquisite restaurants, and luxurious resorts catering to various preferences.

What makes this route different is its one-of-a-kind nature. Los Cabos Airport has primarily handled flights within the Americas, with only a seasonal Iberojet flight from Madrid being its other long-haul connection. Condor’s decision to add this route showcases creativity in leisure flying and exploring routes that other airlines might shy away from.

In addition to Los Cabos, Condor is set to launch flights to San Antonio (SAT) and Miami (MIA) in May.

San Antonio, located in the heart of Texas, will welcome its first-ever long-haul flight once Condor’s inaugural flight is deployed on May 17.

Condor’s New Membership Program

In addition to the new route announcement, Condor unveiled its new membership program, Condor Cards. This program, featuring two card options, the World Activity Card and the World Family Card, offers attractive benefits for frequent Condor guests.

The Activity Card, priced at $322.99 annually, targets sports enthusiasts, providing complimentary sports baggage and seat reservations on every flight throughout the year.

On the other hand, the Family Card, with an annual fee of $499.99, offers benefits like complimentary seat reservations for up to four guests, additional baggage, early boarding, and a reserved carry-on baggage bin for a full year.

Jens Boyd highlighted the appeal of Condor Cards for families and sports enthusiasts, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to providing cost-effective and convenient travel options. The membership fee is designed to pay itself with just two round-trip flights within a year, making it an attractive proposition for frequent travelers.

All Condor Cards come with additional perks, such as early check-in at no extra charge and exclusive offers, with personalized support from the Condor Cards service team.

The cards can be purchased as part of a flight booking or separately, making them a versatile option for travelers looking to enhance their flying experience.

As Condor continues to push the boundaries of leisure flying and expand its network with innovative routes, the introduction of Condor Cards adds a new layer of benefits for its loyal passengers, setting the airline apart in the competitive travel landscape.

With these developments, Condor is growing strong in the leisure aviation industry, providing more choices and enhanced customer experiences.
