Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is set to welcome a major upgrade for premium travelers: a sprawling, two-story American Express Centurion Lounge in Terminal C.
The new premium space, spanning an impressive 20,000 square feet, will feature a rooftop bar and patio, along with the airport’s first-ever green roof—a lush, plant-covered space designed to enhance both aesthetics and sustainability.
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) officially approved the project, with construction expected to begin in spring 2025 and completion slated for 2027.
This enhancement will greatly broaden BOS’s lounge options, granting Centurion Cardmembers an elevated sense of comfort and exclusivity. It will be one of three new American Express lounges underway, including a Salt Lake City (SLC) location anticipated to open in 2025, and another in Newark (EWR) projected for 2026.
A Game-Changer for Boston Travelers
Located near Gate C10, the new Centurion Lounge will be built atop an existing structure, offering unparalleled views of the Boston harbor and upgraded amenities.
The lounge is expected to feature premium food and beverage offerings curated by top chefs and an exclusive cocktail menu crafted by renowned mixologists.
Guests will also enjoy sophisticated seating areas designed for both work and relaxation, as well as a cozy fireplace lounge aptly named “The Hearth.”
The rooftop patio and green roof concept add a unique touch, though Boston’s seasonal climate may limit year-round outdoor use. Nonetheless, this expansion makes it one of Amex’s largest Centurion Lounges—a move that could help alleviate overcrowding issues seen at other locations.
Massport will fund and oversee the initial construction, including the shell of the lounge. Once that’s completed, Amex will take over the interior outfitting.
While exact design details remain under wraps, the new lounge is expected to follow the high standards of the Centurion Lounge network.
Logan’s Bustling Lounge Scene
The new Centurion isn’t the only high-end space arriving at BOS. It joins a growing list of premium lounges, including the recently opened Chase Sapphire Lounge, located between Terminals B and C and featuring locally crafted beer, specialty coffee, and wellness rooms.
Another recent addition is the Delta Sky Club in Terminal E, which opened in 2023 and offers breathtaking views of Boston Harbor and space for over 1,000 guests.
Last but not least, the brand-new Delta One Lounge, a 6,700-square-foot exclusive area for Delta’s top-tier passengers, opened its doors in December 2024.
Logan’s Transformation
Beyond the lounge scene, BOS has been undergoing major upgrades. In 2023, the airport expanded Terminal E, adding 390,000 square feet of space with four new gates, modern security lanes, and new retail and dining options.
This expansion enhances the airport’s international capacity while improving passenger convenience with 3D CT security scanners that allow travelers to leave laptops and electronics in their bags.
With these developments, Logan is rapidly evolving into a more traveler-friendly hub, offering world-class lounges, amenities, and international connectivity.
The arrival of the Centurion Lounge in 2027 will be yet another milestone in this transformation, solidifying Logan as a premier airport for premium travelers.
