Irish carrier Aer Lingus is enhancing its service on transatlantic flights with new menus, eco-friendly amenity kits for business class travelers, and upgrades to the menu and entertainment offerings in economy class.

Aer Lingus is proud of its 4-star rating from Skytrax, which it has held since 2016, and is “continuously investing in enhancements to our inflight offering,” said Susanne Carberry, chief customer officer.

Fresh seasonal additions

The Irish flag carrier already has a comfortable international business class product, with lie-flat seats and elevated menus with local Irish produce. Its new seasonal spring menu is a treat for the senses.

On westbound flights, passengers can now choose an appetizer of tender smoked salmon with crispy samphire in citrusy depressing, served with tender clams and marinated cherry tomatoes. New on the entrée menu is a skin-on thyme and parsley chicken supreme, served with pea purée mashed potatoes, roasted cauliflower florets, and a tomato chicken jus on the side.

For dessert, business-class passengers can choose between a fluffy lemon cream mousse dome, served over a vanilla sponge and drizzled with zesty lemon curd sauce, or a board of local Irish cheeses, including farmhouse blue and cheddar, with onion jam from Northern Ireland’s Burren Balsamics and sourdough crackers from Peter’s Yard.

Before they land, passengers can enjoy a “light bite” of Korean barbecue popcorn chicken or “planted-based bites” on a salad of Asian black rice, edamame, red onion, and red pepper, tossed in a miso sesame dressing.

Refresh with eco-conscious amenity kits

Business-class travelers will also find reimagined amenity kits on their seats, with products from natural skincare brand Jo Browne Ireland, made with environmentally-friendly materials. Jo Browne’s Signature Blend lip balm and hydrating moisturizer are packaged in sugarcane tubes. The pen and toothbrush are partly made from wheat straw, and the earplugs and dental-kit pouches are made from planted-based, biodegradable materials.

To help passengers rest on the journeys, Aer Lingus has also included a premium 3D-molded eye mask and luxury socks.

Economy class enhancements

Aer Lingus hasn’t forgotten the passengers at the rear of the plane and has also invested in their in-flight experience. It highlights its complimentary meal and snack offerings, including Vinca organic red and white wines and beer.

Passengers in all classes can stay entertained on their flights with personal screens. Aer Lingus has added more than 1,300 titles to its library, including recently released films, TV series such as Ms Marvel, Loki, and The Mandalorian, and games.

“At Aer Lingus, we are dedicated to providing the most comfortable experience for our customers as they fly across the Atlantic,” Carberry said. “Our exceptional inflight offering includes complimentary food and drink, and customers are welcome to enjoy an extensive selection of inflight entertainment options. Those flying in our Business Class cabin will experience added comfort and space while onboard with us.”

Aer Lingus flies to 14 cities in North America. This spring, it will debut two additional U.S. destinations: Nashville (BNA) and Indianapolis (IND).
