A limited-time Virgin Atlantic sale is offering a 30 percent discount on reward seat bookings, but you’ll need to be quick to book as the offer ends on February 28.
Customers booking reward seats with frequent flyer points between February 16 and 28, for travel before May 31, 2023, can save 30 percent off the usual price. The offer is available on certain routes to select destinations across the U.K., the U.S., the Caribbean, and Asia.
Virgin Atlantic’s reward seats are those purchased entirely with Virgin Points. With reward seats, the only fees you’ll need to pay are taxes, surcharges imposed by the carrier, and any other extra service fees.
To claim reward seats, passengers must be members of both the Virgin Red and Virgin Atlantic Flying Clubs and link their accounts to ensure their Virgin Points balance is synced up. When booking a flight, passengers with enough Virgin Points can redeem them on a reward seat by entering their Flying Club number in the “Personal details” field.
The discount is available on select flights for passengers in the U.K. and further afield. Those traveling from London Heathrow Airport (LHR), for example, can fly to the following destinations:
- Tel Aviv (TLV) for 12,600+ Virgin Points (usually 18,000+)
- Antigua (ANU) for 14,000+ Virgin Points (usually 20,000+)
- New York (JFK) for 14,000+ Virgin Points (usually 20,000+)
- Austin (AUS) for 21,000+ Virgin Points (usually 30,000+)
Other destinations which are eligible for the discount from London Heathrow include Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), Tampa (TPA), Washington (IAD), Islamabad (ISB), Lahore (LHE), and Mumbai (BOM).
For U.S. travelers looking for affordable flights to the U.K., the 30 percent discount applies to the following routes:
- New York, Boston, or Washington to London Heathrow (14,000+ Virgin Points, down from 20,000+)
- Atlanta, Miami, or Tampa to London Heathrow (17,500+ Virgin Points, down from 25,000+)
- Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle to London Heathrow (21,000+ Virgin Points, down from 30,000+)
The discount also applies on flights from New York JFK to Manchester (MAN) and vice versa.
If you’ve got some spare Virgin Points to use, book flights on Virgin Atlantic’s website by choosing your desired destination and departure date, then selecting the “Show Price in Points” option under the advanced search, and selecting your preferred cabin. You can then browse the reward seats available at the 30 percent discount. It applies to all fares including Economy, Premium, and Upper Class.
