Delta Air Lines has dominated all its North American competitors by receiving eight Business Traveler awards this year. The Atlanta-based carrier continues to lead the way in a post-pandemic era that has drastically reshaped how people travel.

Flying to more than 240 destinations in 52 countries, Delta boasts a fleet of almost 890 aircraft. New orders for more than 330 next-generation planes will continue lowering the average age of the airline’s fleet while introducing new passenger-favorite amenities.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Air Travel Consumer Report has listed Delta as the top-ranked airline among major U.S. carriers in terms of fewer complaints and cancellations. According to the airline’s chief customer experience officer, Allison Ausband, “Delta’s ranking in customer complaints and canceled flights during one of the most challenging years in our history is a testament to the dedication and perseverance of the entire Delta family.”

Delta’s home airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport—dubbed the “Delta mother ship” by the airline’s top customers— won the Best North American Airport and Best North American Airport for Amenities awards, acknowledging that a cohesive relationship between “bests” is key to remaining on top of the competition.

Customers also continue to praise Delta’s SkyMiles frequent flyer program. Dwight James, SVP of customer engagement and loyalty, says, “SkyMiles members choose to fly with us because of our unparalleled commitment to safety, reliability, elevated experience and our members themselves.”

Last year, amid the pandemic, SkyMiles was the only frequent flyer program in the U.S. to allow its customers to extend Medallion Status for an additional year. The program also teamed up with American Express to produce a limited-edition credit card made in part from one of Delta’s retired Boeing 747-400s. With this exclusive card, customers were given the flexibility to pay for their flights through a “buy now, pay later” feature, which has proven to be a remarkable tool as the traveling public gets back in the air.

On the ground, the new 30,000-square-foot Sky Club at Los Angeles International Airport was named Best Airport Lounge in North America. One of the largest in the airline’s network, it features an exquisite design with stunning ramp views and an open-air Sky Deck, offering customers an unmatched lounge experience.

Overall, Delta Air Lines has not only managed to please its passengers on domestic economy class trips but also raised the bar on premium flights, ground services, lounges, frequent flyer programs and even technology through its award-winning app.
