If there is one area of hospitality that has proved resilient over these past few challenging years, it is the extended stay market—a suite sweet spot for road warriors and travelers. And to that end, Level Hotels & Furnished Suites has emerged as a force in the industry.
Designed, built, owned and operated by Onni Group, Level Hotels entered the game in 2009 with extended stay accommodations to serve the influx of visitors expected for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Since then, the company has expanded its portfolio to twelve locations, adding properties in Chicago, Long Beach, Hollywood (opening in October), Vancouver and Seattle.
Location is a prime attraction for these extended stay suites and luxury penthouses. In Los Angeles that means downtown views of the L.A. Live towers and the Deco landscapes of Pershing Square. In Hollywood, guests will be walking distance from bustling Hollywood & Highland and the soundstages of Paramount Studios. And at the nearby Level Long Beach, which opened this spring, guests have access to the beach strands and convention center within the city’s artsy East Village neighborhood. In Chicago, guests will find newly opened Level Fulton Market in the city’s vibrant West Loop, a former industrial zone that’s now a hotspot for dining and nightlife. Other locations include River North and Old Town.
Level Seattle opened last year in South Lake Union, a booming hub for Amazon and the biotech industry abuzz with scenester bars, restaurants, and lunchtime food trucks.
Then there’s Vancouver, where it all began for Level. The company has three locations in this scenic northwest metropolis, including in bustling Yaletown and downtown Vancouver.
Level hotels are home to a host of add-ons and amenities you won’t find with other extended stay or vacation rental choices. Consider Level Seattle, the city’s only hotel with three pools (including indoor) and a karaoke room; or Level DTLA, where you can shoot hoops on the rooftop basketball court overlooking the Los Angeles skyline.
Amenities often include 24-hour guest services, pools, gyms, game rooms, saunas, co-working areas, and theater lounges—even a pet spa. Expect kitchens to be furnished with state-of-the-art appliances and updated modern finishes, such as sizeable kitchen islands.
Choose from studios with stunning views to multi-room penthouses in towers that rise above the din. The properties’ home-away-from-home appeal means commanding city views, sleek interior designs, open-air terraces, flowing entertainment and dining spaces, in-suite laundry, dedicated front desk services, and rooftop pools that pan the city and bring an array of comfortable lounge accoutrement, hot tubs, grilling areas and firepits.
Level properties may be located in iconic central city skyscrapers, but the hotels retain a boutique quality to better serve guests. Privacy and service top the priority list whether your stay spans a few short days or a few short months.
