TSA Expands PreCheck Partnerships

Nine new carriers join the expedited screening program

The Transportation Security Administration has announced a growing list of partner airlines to its TSA PreCheck expedited screening program. Nine new domestic and international carriers are now in the program: Air India, Asiana Airlines, China Airlines, Eastern Airlines, Elite Airways, EVA Airways, Japan Airlines, TAP Air Portugal and Volaris, bringing to 65 the number of carriers participating.

The program costs $85 for a five-year period. However, it’s worth noting that expedited screening is not always guaranteed. Security mandates at some airports may mean pre-check is not available or is limited. It’s also important to have your TSA KTN (known traveler number) entered in the correct field on your frequent flier profiles to make sure you get the coveted designation on your boarding pass.
