WHERE IS IT Just steps from the airport terminal, this convenient and stylish hotel is within close walking distance. For those wanting to venture into town, the airport train station means it is easy to go and come without much effort. Nearby corporate offices, including one for Austrian Airlines, mean this is a favorite for business travelers with work near the airport in addition to those on short transits or with early-morning flights. For those on the shortest of transits, there are day rates available by contacting the hotel.

WHAT’S IT LIKE? While this is the second largest Moxy in the world (the New York Times Square property is the biggest), there is plenty of space for everyone to work and relax in comfort. The glass-lined lobby doubles as a bar and lounge, which if you look closely, is divided into two sections (one with pumping music and another that is quieter with a library area). In fact, Moxy’s brand promise is around youthful and playful décor with a focus on music although business traveler-friendly amenities are ready and waiting.

ROOM FACILITIES Carpeted guest rooms have soft armchairs next to king or paired queen beds with soft duvets and a pair of pillows. On either side of the bed are power outlets and USB ports while flat-screen cable TVs face the beds and feature capability to stream personal entertainment from your mobile device. Free wireless Internet works throughout the hotel, and staff sometimes can arrange to “hook up” a room with special themes like play forts for kids or balloons and surprises for couples.

Mirrors are covered with humorous messages about the possible purposes of a guest’s stay. Looking for amenities like a coffeemaker or ironing board? Those are located elsewhere with an ironing room free for guest use on each floor and coffeemakers on the lobby level (hot water for tea is complimentary). Family size rooms feature separate living rooms with sofa beds and larger bathrooms that are suitable for wheelchairs. Windows open for fresh air, but when closed, the soundproofing works like a charm.

RESTAURANTS AND BARS A grab-and-go station is available at all hours with fresh snacks, meals, and a range of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Some of the dishes can be heated up with microwaves or perked up with a range of condiments including a range of spicy sauces. Booths, communal tables, and individual seating areas make up the lounge area, and along the walls (which can shift to unveil buffet areas at breakfast or dinner), there are numerous Austrian expressions that German speakers will immediately recognize as being very local. The bar is always open, and a dinner buffet offers two hot options for only 8.50 euros adding convenience for those that do not want to head into town. All guests are treated to a free Moxy cocktail upon arrival, which they can enjoy with or without alcohol. This is one of the brand’s signature welcome perks.

LEISURE FACILITIES A 24-hour fitness center is available on the lobby level with cardio equipment and a water station. For those that want to head into town or even leave town for a few days, a locker room provides place for guests to store their bags free of charge.

BUSINESS AND MEETING FACILITIES Aside from the lobby lounge work station with printer, there is free wireless Internet access available to all guests. Two meeting rooms with natural light are open to guest use with some very clever features. Airplane carts supply snacks and beverages while work tables complement sofa lounge seating for that added moment of creativity. Another unique addition is that one of the meeting rooms has workspace that converts into a table tennis should the mood permit. Co-working space in the lobby lounge is popular with guests that want to enjoy some productive time with a drink from the bar or power from the outlets at most seats.

VERDICT This is the next generation of airport hotel and does a marvelous job of combining the millennial spirit with the needs of all travelers no matter what the purpose of their journey. The ability to earn and redeem Marriott Rewards points just adds to the fun.
