GlobalStar Tech Partners Focus on Small & Medium Enterprise Travel

Travel management company teams with Snowstorm Technologies to implement new hotel booking program

GlobalStar, the international travel management network, has formed a strategic global partnership with Snowstorm Technologies, a travel technology company

Snowstorm’s recently launched OneWurld Desktop product features a small and medium sized enterprise-focused corporate booking tool which brings together global distribution with technology and an array of content.

The partnership is further consolidated by the introduction of a new hybrid hotel program, Above & Beyond. With the OneWurld platform, the Above & Beyond hotel solution drives competitive rates to users, as well as saving hotel partners money in distribution costs.

Steve Hartwell, president of GlobalStar, said the alliance has partnered with Snowstorm on their hotel booking platform for the last three years and has come to understand the value of OneWurld as “a complete booking and management solution for all of its network agency partners.”

Small and medium enterprises have been increasingly on the radar of travel providers in recent years, a trend that is likely to accelerate in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Delta Air Lines’ most recent quarterly earnings call, CEO Ed Bastian stated that “small and medium accounts which make up half of our corporate revenues [are] recovering five points faster than large corporates.”

In recent years, a number of travel industry players have been tailoring rewards programs to SMEs. For example, in 2019, Qatar Airways announced the launch of ‘Beyond Business,’ a corporate rewards program for small- and medium-sized businesses.
