Escape Lounge Debuts at LA’s Ontario Airport

The American Express Collection lounge is accessible to all travelers passing through the airport

A $4 million Escape Lounge is now open in Terminal 2 of Ontario International Airport which serves the greater Los Angeles, CA, area. Another is scheduled to open later in 2019 in Terminal 4, Airline Geeks reports.

The 2,800-square-foot lounges are part of the American Express Global Lounge Collection, so access is free for Amex Platinum Card holders. Day passes are as low as $40 if purchased in advance.  Lounge amenities include hot and cold food by Henry Gonzales, executive chef of Spaggi’s of Upland, CA, and high-speed WiFi.

Among the airlines serving Ontario, China Airlines began daily service between Ontario and Taipei, Taiwan last year. Other airlines at the airport include Alaska, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, United, and Volaris.

Los Angeles World Airports, which operates Ontario, has been investing in dining and retail upgrades at the airport, including the addition of the luxury lounges. Escape Lounges are also currently open in Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Oakland International Airport, Reno-Tahoe International Airport, Hartford’s Bradley International Airport, and South Carolina’s Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.
