Travel news, reviews and intel for high-flyers

Check out the Incredible Turkish Airlines Lounge in Istanbul

There are airport lounges and then there's the massive, three-level CIP Lounge Istanbul at IST.

The main lounge for Turkish Airlines, it’s a true playground for adults and children.

Aside from multiple food stations serving some amazing Turkish (and Western) food, there is just a huge amount of space to work, rest, relax or eat. As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by a large library with a pool table. On the other side are clear lockers for luggage and a large screening room (complete with popcorn). On my last visit, they were playing a Frank Sinatra concert. The lounge opens up into multiple seating areas.

Recreation includes a golf simulator, a slot-car track, PlayStation3 consoles, multiple TV areas with digital headsets to allow you listen to any one of the multiple TVs on a huge wall. There are showers, napping areas and roving masseuses who patrol the lounge, offering their services at your seat or in the massage studio.

Here’s the full tour of the Turkish Airlines CIP Lounge Istanbul. The airline has direct flights to Istanbul from nine US gateway cities (LA, NYC, Boston, Houston, Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco and Miami). Business Class passengers traveling with Turkish Airlines, Miles&Smiles (the Turkish Airlines frequent flyer program) Elite and Elite Plus cardholders traveling in Economy Class, Star Alliance Gold and Turkish Airlines Corporate Club members can use Lounge Istanbul and enjoy all its services.
