Bangkok Shangri-La Riverview Room Tour

Bangkok's Shangri-La Hotel sits on the bank of the Chao Phraya River in an area filled with many of the city's luxury hotels.

There are two large wings of the urban resort, the original Shangri-La Wing and the newer Krungthep Wing. The rooms and suites in the Shangri-La Wing are generally larger but lack the balconies the accommodations in the Krungthep Wing offer. Each part has it’s own riverside recreation area and swimming pool.

The large resort has a few different dining options and even has its own Horizon Cruise dinner river cruise. The hotel’s executive chef and his team prepare a wonderful dinner as you float up and down the river, viewing the city from a unique perspective.

I flew China Eastern Airlines to Bangkok from LAX, flying through their PVG hub from LAX. They offer a very competitive Business Class product with new 777 aircraft, wonderful leather, flat-bed, pod-style seats (each with aisle access), excellent food and wine and great service.
