2019 Lexus RX 350 F SPORT – First Look / First Drive

Recent posted car industry sales figures from all the major automakers show drops in car sales and increases in SUV and truck purchases. You can also see the trend with all the new SUV models being released. For example, Cadillac just introduced a small XT4 crossover, to go with its mid-size XT5 and full-size Escalade.
For the first time, Lexus has released their mid-size crossover RX in F SPORT trim. F SPORT is the Japanese automaker’s sport trim package, which includes better performance along with both interior and exterior upgrades. Better performance is adding an additional “Sport +” mode to the Lexus Drive Mode system along with an optional higher performance suspension system. I spent a few weeks cruising around in the new 2019 Lexus RX 350 F SPORT and was impressed. My test car was FWD and I would have preferred the AWD model but other than that it was great.
There was a huge difference in performance between driving in regular mode and in Sport + (higher revs, later shifts). I also liked the red interior. Here’s a first look at the 2019 Lexus RX 350 F SPORT. If you want to see even more of the RX in motion, here’s a driving video I did.
