Singapore Airlines has just raised the bar for premium air travel with the grand reveal of its revamped Premium Economy in-flight experience.

This overhaul, set to debut on flights starting March 31, promises an upgraded journey for passengers flying in the airline’s Premium Economy cabin aboard its Boeing 777, Airbus A350, and A380 aircraft.

The updated in-flight product boasts an array of tantalizing dining options, a chic new amenity kit, and the airline’s commitment to delivering the quality service it is known for.

Singapore Airlines Refined Dining

Gone are mundane in-flight meals in classes below First and Business. Singapore Airlines has introduced an extensive selection of delectable treats designed to tease the taste buds of even the most demanding travelers while flying on a budget.

When passengers settle into the airline’s Premium Economy seats, they’ll be greeted with a glass of Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV champagne, setting the tone for an indulgent experience.

But the luxury doesn’t stop there. Premium Economy Class customers will be presented with a hard copy menu card, offering a glimpse into the culinary delights that await them.

One of the enhanced features of the new Premium Economy experience is the addition of over 200 new appetizers, main courses, and desserts to the menu.

The meals will now include a seasonal appetizer, main course, bread, dessert, cheese, and crackers, all served in contemporary stoneware glazed porcelain service ware, presented on a linen-lined tray, and neatly tucked silverware.

The new appetizers range from garlic-roasted prawns with smoked aioli to Thai-style Crab Curry served with jasmine rice.

The airline has also expanded its ‘Book the Cook’ menu, allowing passengers to plan ahead and choose from up to 20 dishes, all visible through its digital menu.

Premium Economy passengers can customize their dining experience by selecting either international or Asian cuisine as their premium main course option. Special dishes include Singapore-style seafood and Slow-Braised Lamb Ragout.

For dessert, passengers can enjoy specially crafted delights such as Chocolate Feuilletine Cake and Mascarpone Cream Cake, while upgraded cheese and crackers provide a touch of sophistication.

Wines on the rise

The airline’s panel of wine experts has curated a selection of wines and Champagnes exclusively for the Premium Economy Class cabin, including the 2023 Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc and the 2022 St Hallett Faith Shiraz. There are also various spirits and signature cocktails, including the iconic ‘Singapore Sling.’

According to the airline, the panel of experts sources wines from famous vineyards worldwide, curated by wine consultants through a blind tasting process. Premium Economy Class customers enjoy an exclusive selection of Australian and New Zealand wines and Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV Champagne.

Mid-flight, passengers can indulge in snacks between meals, from almonds and cashews to assorted buns and flavored popcorn.

New Amenity Kits

But it’s not just about the food. Singapore Airlines has partnered with Out of the Woods—a US-based manufacturer of eco-friendly products—to introduce a brand new amenity kit for Premium Economy Class customers.

Made from eco-friendly materials—including Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified kraft paper fabric—the kit consists of eyeshades, slippers, and a lip balm packaged in biodegradable material, adding a touch of sustainability to the experience.

In addition to the updated in-flight amenities, the airline’s Premium Economy passengers can enjoy the usual priority check-in at dedicated counters, enhanced baggage allowance, and priority boarding at the gate.

The Premium Economy Experience

Premium Economy on Singapore Airlines offers a top-of-the-line product that ensures comfort, luxury, and entertainment. Since its launch in 2015, passengers can enjoy ergonomically designed seats featuring a full leather finish, headrest cover, cushion, and blanket. The current seat pitch of 38 inches and seat width ranging from 18.5 to 19.5 inches offer ample space for passengers to stretch out and relax.

Also available is the airline’s KrisWorld entertainment system, which offers a 13.3-inch full HD monitor and noise-cancelling headphones. With over 1,900 on-demand options, passengers can choose from various movies, TV shows, music, podcasts, games, and applications.
