Lufthansa is about to introduce its new Allegris First Class suite to the skies in just a few days. Travelers bound for India will be the first to experience this flagship cabin on long-haul routes, with the inaugural Allegris flights scheduled to depart for Bangalore on November 9 and Mumbai on November 15.

For Lufthansa’s most loyal guests, the initial flights will be by exclusive invitation, offering a preview of a travel experience that promises unmatched privacy, comfort, and personalization.

What to Expect?

At the heart of the new Allegris cabin experience is the First Class Suite Plus, designed with privacy and indulgence in mind. Described by Lufthansa Airlines CEO Jens Ritter as a space with the “feeling of privacy and individuality similar to a hotel room,” the Suite Plus is perfect for those traveling with a companion.

The suite features ceiling-high walls and a sliding door that encloses the space entirely—ideal for creating a private oasis during long flights.

Inside, the Suite Plus offers two spacious seats that convert into a double bed, providing couples or travel partners with an experience akin to a flying hotel room.

For single travelers seeking solitude, the suite can transform into an individualized, spacious personal suite. These seats offer travelers the luxury of personalized heating or cooling controls, a wide entertainment screen, wireless headphones, and individual lighting to customize the ambiance.

A private wardrobe adds to the suite’s practicality, allowing travelers to store their belongings and change comfortably.

Innovation in Entertainment

Enhancing the premium experience, Lufthansa’s Allegris fleet also includes state-of-the-art VR headsets for passengers in Business Class.

This creative offering was developed in collaboration with Meta and MSM.Digital, recently earned Lufthansa the APEX Innovation Award for the world’s best in-flight entertainment experience in 2024.

As the only airline globally to offer exclusive virtual reality content, Lufthansa’s new VR headsets provide an array of interactive and cinematic experiences, from VR 360-degree travel podcasts to relaxation exercises.

Passengers on Allegris flights can enjoy this immersive entertainment and provide feedback to help Lufthansa refine its offerings.

A New Era for Lufthansa’s Fleet

The Allegris First Class Suite is part of Lufthansa’s ambitious long-haul cabin upgrade—an investment of 2.5 billion euros to transform the airline’s fleet by 2025.

The airline’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft will be the first to feature this comprehensive cabin overhaul—the largest in the airline’s 97-year history, with more deliveries set to expand the Allegris suite experience across its long-haul routes.

As Ritter mentioned in his interview with Business Traveler, Allegris is a groundbreaking product. It will be available on 90 percent of Lufthansa’s 117 jets designated for it by late 2028.

Now that Lufthansa is preparing to launch its most exclusive in-flight experience, passengers can look forward to a redefined First Class that marries privacy, luxury, and cutting-edge technology for a seamless journey.
