Delta Air Lines has opened its second Sky Club at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in Terminal 4.
“This new Club is beautifully designed and packed with special details that reflect the magic of New York City,” said Claude Roussel, Managing Director of Delta Sky Club. “But much more important than that, it’s a place where our people can deliver Delta Sky Club’s signature hospitality, making each guest feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they step inside.”
With seating for more than 250 guests, the nearly 14,000-square-foot club is an excellent reprieve for fliers in Concourse A.
Inspired by New York City, the lounge utilizes features to showcase the city’s bravery and glamour. It features a fireplace, sweeping views of the airfield, and cozy nooks. At the center of the lounge, a 360-degree premium bar serves as the centerpiece, offering passengers a place to decompress amidst busy travel days.
A buffet onsite will feature local, emerging chefs through the airline’s Local Flavor program.
The highlighted chef for the lounge through the end of September is Elyssa Heller, the founder and CEO of Edith’s Eatery & Grocery in Williamsburg. Guests in the lounge will enjoy Heller’s takes on Jewish deli staples, including a brisket hash sandwich, vegetarian latkes with labneh parfait, and Edith’s famous vegan Iced Café Slushie (made from cold brew, tahini, oat milk, and simple syrup).
Other lounge features include soundproof booths for meetings or silence and a full beverage station.
Since 2010, the carrier has invested over $7 billion in infrastructure at its New York airports. At the beginning of 2023, the airline consolidated its operations to Terminal 4, opening ten new gates in Concourse A. In fall 2023, the expansion of Concourse B is expected to be concluded. This will include 28 gates, expanded security checkpoints, updated restrooms, and a larger baggage claim area.
It’s no coincidence that the U.S. carrier is operating its most extensive transatlantic schedule from the New York airport this summer. With over 230 daily departures to 95 destinations, the airline will fly passengers to new and staple routes, including Reykjavik, Venice, Prague, and Copenhagen. Routes like Geneva and London Gatwick, which haven’t been flown since before the pandemic, have also been added to the airline’s rotation.
Later this year, the airline will launch a new seasonal service to Buenos Aires to expand its South American network. In addition, in the winter Delta will fly a new seasonal service to Rio de Janeiro as part of the airline’s joint venture with LATAM. Thanks to the same partnership, Delta also introduced nonstop flights between Orlando and Bogota.
The airline announced a strategic partnership with El Al earlier this year. In the future, the partnership will improve travel connections between Israel and the United States, allowing passengers access to frequent flier benefits, code sharing, and the ability to earn and use miles on flights.
