If you’ve ever wanted a sip of your favorite cocktail while onboard a long flight, then your wish has been answered by Delta Air Lines.

The airline will now serve various cocktails during flight service as part of their onboard food and beverage refresh. And, in honor of National Espresso Martini Day, Delta will host an in-flight happy hour, offering customers aged 21+ one complimentary espresso martini on nonstop flights from New York JFK and Los Angeles.

“Your onboard meal or beverage should be no different than your go-to restaurant at home, and that’s why we’re constantly reinventing our onboard service at Delta—we always want to surprise and delight our customers with seasonal and fresh menu options,” said Kristen Manion Taylor, S.V.P of In-Flight Service at Delta.

Although the Atlanta-based carrier has been partnered with Tip Top Proper Cocktails since 2021, their new refresh will bring more cocktails to the onboard rotation. Classics like the Old-fashioned Bee’s Knees and Negronis will also be available. But fans of the espresso martini will be delighted to know that the strong drink is made in partnership with Counter Culture Coffee. Its unique espresso blend uses roasted coffee and vanilla bean notes, improving the beloved beverage.

For now, the onboard cocktail rotation will begin with the espresso martini and Old-fashioned, and it will only be available on select domestic and international flights. However, Delta plans to expand and feature the other classic options through the fleet on various routes during this year.

International flights can also enjoy the treasured Delta One dessert cart alongside the martinis. With plated desserts, fruit and cheese plates, and a build-your-own sundae option, customers can indulge in all their favorites while flying at 36,000 feet.

Some other onboard additions include a new food program, which features unique seasonal offerings and flavors, and partnerships with three James Beard Award-winning chefs. The onboard wine selection will also be elevated, thanks to a collaboration with Imagery Winery led by female winemaker Jamie Benziger.
