British Airways has announced the opening of reservations for five Avios-only flights, offering Executive Club Members exclusive access to Reward Seats. These flights are part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to provide value and choice to its loyal customers.

The recent success of all-Avios flights to Sharm El Sheikh and Geneva prompted British Airways to expand this offering. Starting November 15, Executive Club Members can book Avios-only flights from London Gatwick to Las Palmas and Lanzarote and from London Heathrow to Barcelona and Nice. In addition, a flight from London Gatwick to Tenerife is available during the Easter 2024 holiday period.

Passengers can choose between Avios-only flights or combine them with other available travel options. While cash-only payments are not accepted, passengers can purchase tickets using a combination of money and Avios. For example, on the Heathrow to Barcelona route, passengers can pay as little as 1GBP plus 25,500 Avios for a return ticket in Euro Traveller (Economy Class), or they can choose a Club Europe (Business Class) return ticket starting from 1GBP plus 44,500 Avios.

These Avios-only flights are operated by BA Euroflyer—British Airways’ subsidiary based at London Gatwick. BA Euroflyer, the only short-haul carrier with a loyalty program at Gatwick, offers a dual-class service with a fleet of five Airbus A321s and nine A320s.

“We are delighted to introduce British Airways’ first Avios-Only flights through BA Euroflyer. Our members will now have even more value and choice when booking their flights,” said Tom Stoddart, CEO of BA Euroflyer. He also revealed that more Avios-only flights will be introduced throughout the year for travel in 2024.

Avios, the Frequent Flyer Program miles for International Airlines Group (IAG) carriers, including British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia, and Vueling, can be redeemed for Reward Seats. British Airways’ Executive Club, established three decades ago and boasting 10 million members, offers different membership statuses: Blue, Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

The Avios-only flights are a testament to British Airways’ commitment to its loyal customers and the continued enhancement of its loyalty program.
