British Airways is gearing up to expand its North American network next summer, offering more flights to the United States, Canada, and Mexico than ever before.

As per a recent press release, the airline is set to operate over 400 weekly nonstop flights between the U.K. and North America during the peak weeks of the summer 2025 travel season, with direct services to 26 cities across the U.S.

Moreover, British Airways boasts of providing more flights between the U.K. and the U.S. than any other European carrier and will be the sole operator offering a First Class service between the two countries.

Key Route Enhancements

British Airways has confirmed that it will increase the number of flights on several important routes to North America from its base in London Heathrow (LHR) next summer.

These changes include doubling the number of flights to Miami International Airport (MIA) from daily to twice daily year-round, coinciding with the opening of its new airport lounge at MIA.

Also, the airline is adding six weekly flights to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), bringing the total frequency to 13 weekly flights.

Additionally, there will be three extra weekly flights to Las Vegas (LAS) during peak summer weeks, raising the total to ten services per week, and one more weekly flight to Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), making it a daily service for the first time since the route was introduced in 2019.

The number of flights to Washington-Dulles (IAD) will increase by seven per week, resulting in 21weekly  flights on this key route. And in Canada, the airline will add up to seven extra weekly flights to Vancouver International Airport (YVR), making the total 14 weekly flights next summer in addition to daily flights from London Gatwick (LGW).

Global Network Expansion

Finally, an extra weekly flight from London Gatwick to Cancun (CUN) will be offered next summer, making the service a daily occurrence.

All these additional flights are now on sale on the British Airways website, with the carrier claiming that customers are already showing strong interest in these destinations during key events next year, such as Rod Stewart’s The Encore Shows in Las Vegas and the Miami Grand Prix.

“The U.S. remains a priority market for us, and we know these network changes will be welcomed by both our business and leisure customers, providing more options than ever before to travel between the U.K. and USA,” said Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer at British Airways.

British Airways also confirmed it is expanding its global network elsewhere in 2025, with additional flights to Bangkok (BKK) from January and more flights to Delhi (DEL), Florence (FLR), and Riyadh (RUH) next summer, in addition to new services to Kuala Lumpur (KLL) and Jeddah (JED) that are scheduled to begin in November this year.
