American Airlines will debut service from Dallas Fort-Worth to Barcelona, Spain next summer.

Despite the logistical challenges that come with managing a busy travel season, American Airlines is doubling down on expanding its routes into 2024. The airline has announced four new routes for summer 2024, plus expanded service to destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America this coming winter.

The airline will continue to expand its service to Europe next year, adding routes from Philadelphia (PHL) to Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH); Naples, Italy (NAP); and Nice, France (NCE). It will also debut a new nonstop service from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Barcelona, Spain (BCN). Additionally, the airline will also resume service from Chicago (ORD) to Venice, Italy (VCE).

Service to Nice will begin on May 6, 2024, followed by Naples on June 5, 2024, and Copenhagen the next day. Flights from Dallas-Fort Worth to Barcelona will launch on June 5, 2024, the same day the airline resumes the Chicago to Venice route. Customers can purchase tickets starting August 20 via aa.com or the American Airlines app.

“New service from Philadelphia and expanded trans-Atlantic service from Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth will offer customers convenient one-stop access from more than 200 unique destinations across the U.S. to Europe next summer,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning in a statement.

The airline also recently announced it would expand several European routes to year-round service, including Charlotte (CLT) to Madrid, Spain (MAD); Dallas-Fort Worth to Dublin, Ireland (DUB); Dallas-Fort Worth to Rome, Italy (FCO); Philadelphia to Barcelona, Spain; and Philadelphia to Lisbon, Portugal (LIS).

If next summer seems too long a wait, the airline has also expanded winter service to destinations in the Bahamas, Argentina, Mexico, Anguilla, Barbados, St Maarten, and the British Virgin Islands.
