Air France is launching a new beauty stopover at New York’s JFK Airport, offering select customers complimentary facial treatments from cosmetics giant Clarins.

The new spa, which features “two cozy private beauty booths,” is located in the Air France-KLM lounge in Terminal 1 at JFK. Open to La Première (first) and business class customers, Elite Plus (Gold and Platinum) members of the Flying Blue loyalty scheme, eligible passengers can select from three complimentary facial treatments, each lasting 20 minutes: Jet Lag Relief, Detox Time, and Eye-Must.

In addition, La Première customers can receive an extended 30-minute treatment with a Relax and Reset add-on.

The treatments are delivered by Clarins professionals, using high-end Clarins skincare products rich in plant extracts. Suitable for both men and women, the treatments are designed to ease the tension of travel and promote relaxation.

The spa is open daily between 2 PM and 10 PM, covering all Air France transatlantic departures.

Reservations are made at the Clarins reception area in the lounge on a first come, first served basis. However, first class customers can book the treatments in advance using the dedicated La Première telephone line.

The Clarins spa in the lounge replaces the La Prairie treatment center that was present at the lounge. However, Air France and Clarins have had a 17-year history of collaboration. Clarins also runs spas at Air France lounges in terminals 2E and 2F at Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

The onboard amenity kit for Air France business class customers includes mini bottles of Clarin’s Hydra-Essentiel Cooling Gel and Hand & Nail Treatment Cream. Passengers also have access to the Eau Dynamisante spray and Soothing Toning Lotion onboard.

The Air France lounge at JFK underwent a total refurbishment in 2018. Its light and spacious design, reportedly inspired by the interior of a Parisian brasserie, offers eligible passengers the chance to relax in a comfortable, tranquil environment before heading off across the Atlantic. In addition to the spa, passengers can also take advantage of complimentary food and drinks—including hot meals—and showers, all away from the hustle and bustle of the main terminal floor.

Air France will fly six daily flights between JFK and Paris this winter, four with a La Première cabin. These flights will be complemented by two more daily flights between the two cities, operated by fellow SkyTeam member Delta Air Lines, which has a codeshare agreement with Air France.

Additionally, on December 12, Air France will launch a daily non-stop service between Paris and Newark Liberty Airport (EWR), the second-largest international airport to serve the New York City metropolitan area.
