Aeromexico Celebrates 90 Years with Route Expansion and Sleek New Look
The Mexican flag carrier will boost flights to North America from several Mexican gateways

As Aeromexico gears up to celebrate its 90th anniversary, the SkyTeam member is set to strengthen its North American network with a slew of new and returning routes just in time for the holiday season.
This expansion, which will connect key Mexican cities to major U.S. destinations, is set to enhance the airline’s transborder operations and catering to the needs of its growing U.S. customer base.
The new routes are scheduled to begin rolling out in November and will continue through late December, coinciding perfectly with the peak holiday travel period.
New and Returning Routes for the Holidays
Aeromexico’s latest route additions will connect Guadalajara (GDL), Monterrey (MTY), Cancún (CUN), and Manzanillo (ZLO) to prominent U.S. cities, including Denver (DEN), Las Vegas (LAS), Orlando (MCO), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), Atlanta (ATL), and Los Angeles (LAX).
Most of these routes will launch on December 19, with flight frequencies varying from daily to weekly.
One of the most notable returns is the Guadalajara-Las Vegas route, which will operate six times weekly on the Boeing 737 MAX 8, marking the first time since 2014 that Aeromexico has served this route, with the seasonal service running until January 12, 2025.
Similarly, the Guadalajara-Miami and Orlando routes will begin with daily service on December 19, later scaling back to four weekly flights in mid-January.
Monterrey will also see several route resumptions. The Mexican flag carrier will reconnect Monterrey with Las Vegas and Orlando with daily service until January 12, when frequencies will be reduced to four weekly flights.
The airline will also resume its Monterrey-New York JFK route, with six weekly flights on the 737 MAX 8 between December 19 and January 12.
For those flying from Cancún, daily flights to Miami will return for the first time since 2012, offering year-round service on the Boeing 737 MAX 8. Meanwhile, Manzanillo will see new connections to Los Angeles and Atlanta, both served weekly, with flights to Los Angeles starting on December 21 and flights to Atlanta beginning as early as November 2.
Strengthening U.S. Operations
Aeromexico is ramping up its U.S. operations with these new and returning routes. The strategic timing of these launches aims to take advantage of increased demand during the holiday season, providing more options for travelers flying between Mexico and the U.S.
The airline’s resumption of routes like Monterrey to Las Vegas and Guadalajara to Denver is particularly notable, marking a return to destinations that haven’t been served since before the pandemic.
The Las Vegas routes are expected to be popular with business and leisure travelers. Likewise, the resumption of flights to Miami, Orlando, and New York indicates a focus on key American markets with strong demand.
A New Look for Its 90th Anniversary
As Aeromexico expands its U.S. network, it is also celebrating a significant milestone—its 90th Anniversary. To mark the occasion, the airline is unveiling a refreshed brand image featuring an updated version of its iconic Caballero Águila emblem. The new design, which adorns its aircraft’s fuselage, reflects the airline’s evolution while staying true to its Mexican heritage.
The airline says the updated Caballero Águila features a more humanized face, conveying a sense of closeness and empathy that aligns with Aeromexico’s mission to foster stronger connections with customers, employees, and partners. The helmet in the design represents an aircraft’s fuselage, while the original version’s emblematic plumage remains intact, preserving the airline’s deep ties to Aztec culture.

Aeromexico is not only rebranding but also concentrating on updating its fleet. The airline currently operates 112 aircraft, including 34 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 20 737 MAX 9 single-aisle jets and 22 787 Dreamliners, making it the largest and most modern fleet in its history.
