Jet Linx Launches Updated Mobile App With Flightsharing

The private jet company offers stand-by seats through new owner-member exchange

Jet Linx, a jet card membership and private jet management company with 18 Base locations around the country, has released a new feature in its mobile app that offers members access to a flightsharing program called OpenSeat Exchange.

OpenSeat Exchange offers aircraft owners and members the ability to buy or sell empty seats on Jet Linx flights on a per-seat basis.

The company currently has around 2,000 jet card members and 115 aircraft owners and the new app feature allows each to communicate and optimize opportunities.

“In 2018, there were over 40,000 empty seats on Jet Linx flights. OpenSeat Exchange is a solution that gives our clients the ability to buy and sell these empty seats on a per-flight, per-seat basis. It’s a secure, trusted, peer-to-peer exchange of open seats within the Jet Linx community,” said Jamie Walker, President & CEO of Jet Linx.

The Jet Linx Mobile App features the ability to book private jets in real-time at guaranteed hourly rates, quote future trips, arrange catering and ground transportation, make flight manifest changes, view and book empty one-way flights at below market pricing. The Exchange is a new feature of that app.

The Jet Linx business model offers a more personalized approach to guaranteed private jet travel solutions through individual, city-specific, local services supported by a national operation. It offers two different ways to experience private aviation – jet card membership and private jet management not unlike Airbnb and other owner-customer exchanges.

The private jet company opened a small, dedicated terminal space in Boston, MA last month at Hanscom Field.  The new terminal is the first its kind for the Greater Boston Area. The new terminal offers a private conference room, an executive lounge, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a kitchenette stocked with snacks and beverages.

The opening of the  new Boston base and private terminal comes as Jet Linx continues its expansion into new markets including Austin, Chicago, and New York, and planned future locations in Florida and California.
