A word of familial advice planted in the ear of founder Alex Golitzin is what set Quilceda Creek on its singularly focused trajectory. “Make one wine and make it well”. Heeding the guidance of his great uncle André Tchelistcheff (also known as the “Dean of American Winemaking”), Alex and his wife, Jeannette, got to work on producing what has since been branded some of the greatest Cabernet Sauvignons in the world.

The winery’s continued success has been largely thanks to their son, Paul Golitzin, who became a winemaker in 1992 and proceeded with an intense ambition to stand shoulder to shoulder with the First Growth producers of Bordeaux. Prospective allocation list members wait approximately one year to get their hands on a bottle. If you’d like a taste of Quilceda Creek’s excellence, keep reading.

The recipe of Quilceda Creek’s success is not a secret, but rather an astounding truth. The winery has enjoyed complete ownership and control over its vineyards and, since 2010, has maintained fully internal farming and viticulture processes. Keeping close rein over the vineyard’s development has enabled the winery to adapt and grow to burgeoning tastes, maintaining Quilceda Creek’s position at the helm of the wine industry.

Thanks to this dedication, Quilceda Creek wines have earned more than thirty 100-point scores from esteemed critics over the years, as well as four “Top 10 Wines of the Year” awards from Wine Spectator.
