In the heart of Kendall, a suburb in southwest Miami, sits Pet Limo, an unassuming, yet pivotal establishment of animal care, assistance and services with a focus in animal transportation. It’s come a long way since it was founded more than 25 years ago, but the company’s evolution is testament to its passion for animals, and an unwavering commitment to their well-being.

What started as a local pet taxi service has become a full-fledged animal transportation empire. Pet Limo now boasts a fleet of specially equipped vehicles, a USDA-certified kennel, and an exclusive contract to service both Miami and Fort Lauderdale International Airports. In fact, Pet Limo is the designated port of entry for animals through its relationships with Customs Border and Protection (CBP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the state of Florida.

The company’s trajectory took an unexpected turn when its founder, a former veterinary assistant, recognized the burgeoning demand for pet transportation during a routine airport trip for a local client. A chance encounter with a United Airlines manager led to an interview, and the rest, as they say, is history. Pet Limo secured the exclusive contract, cementing its place as the go-to service for animal transportation in South Florida.

“All pets either traveling in or out of Florida stop by us. We are an exclusive and personalized animal transportation service,” explains co-founder Ceci Mora. “Our vehicles are designed for the safe and comfortable transport of all kinds of animals—from cats and dogs to lions, panthers, and even crickets.”

Indeed, Pet Limo’s clientele is as diverse as its fleet of services. The company caters to domesticated, farm, exotic, and even zoo animals, ensuring each creature receives the specialized care it needs.

One of Pet Limo’s crown jewels is Canine Country Club Miami, an organic-based certified kennel that sets a new standard for animal care. The kennel features climate-controlled natural air to prevent kennel cough, natural grass play areas, and twice-daily outdoor playtime under staff supervision.

“Our kennel is grandfathered in to accommodate all types of animals,” says Mora. “We prioritize their health and happiness above all else.”

With Miami serving as a major hub for international travel, Pet Limo plays a crucial role in facilitating the safe transport of animals to and from the city. The company functions as a pet travel agency, assisting consulates, businesses, and individuals in relocating pets worldwide, ensuring their seamless transition to new homes and destinations.

But Pet Limo takes on many challenges. Recently, the company participated in the largest animal rescue operation in Central American history. The company received 98 dogs on a private charter from Honduras, processed them through CDC requirements, and successfully released them to their new families.

“We are true animal lovers,” Ceci Mora emphasizes. “We’re a family-owned and operated business and this is what we do.”
