JetBlue has launched a four-times weekly flights between New York and the capital city of Guyana Georgetown. With this route, the airline aims to connect with the Guyanese American community in New York, the largest in the United States.

The carrier operates the flights aboard an A321 neo from its hub at New York’s JFK to Guyana’s Cheddi Jagan International airport. The new route marks the fourth country in the airline’s South America network, which also includes Ecuador, Peru and Colombia.

The addition means that JetBlue now serves nearly 40 destinations in the Caribbean and Latin American region.

“JetBlue’s arrival in Guyana introduces our low fares and award-winning service to another new market in the Caribbean and Latin America where customers have long faced high prices and little competition,” said Andrea Lusso, vice president of network planning at JetBlue,
