At Last, Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin Set to Premiere

The 322-room Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin is finally set to open at the end of next month, at the same time as the long-awaited Berlin Brandenburg airport.

Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts was to have opened the hotel in 2012, but the property was mothballed for almost a decade thanks to a series of delays that pushed back the opening of the airport.

The hotel is now scheduled to open on Oct. 31 to coincide with the inaugural flights at the airport, although according to the hotel’s website rooms were available for booking beginning Oct. 15.

The hotel features an a la carte restaurant and bar, spa, health fitness and beauty facilities, and a conference center with eleven meeting rooms capable of accommodating up to 500 people.

This week it was reported that Eastjet and Lufthansa will perform a one-off parallel landing at Berlin Brandenburg, as part of the opening ceremony for the new airport.
