Low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways has unveiled plans for a new route between New York-JFK and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, set to launch on March 26, 2023.

Norse Atlantic announced that fares for the route would start at €219 one way, the equivalent of $227.

Once the new service begins, Paris will become the fourth European destination served by Norse Atlantic from JFK. The budget carrier already operates three weekly flights to Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and a daily service to Oslo Airport (OSL) via London Gatwick Airport (LGW).

The airline also flies to Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles from Berlin, London, and Oslo. Norse Atlantic will operate the route with one of its nine Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners equipped with 56 premium economy seats and 282 economy class seats.

“We are delighted to offer low-cost flights between New York and Paris on our Boeing 787 Dreamliners,” said Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways. “Whether traveling for business or pleasure, our Premium and Economy seats on our direct flights provide our customers with outstanding value.”

Norse Atlantic joins the list as another Norwegian airline aiming to offer low-cost transatlantic flights to New York. Norwegian Air offered cheap fares between Europe and North America with its Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 737 MAX planes, later withdrawing services due to economic pressures. The airline now runs primarily as a short-haul operator in Europe.

Norse Atlantic’s success in the competitive market isn’t guaranteed, with multiple other airlines operating flights between New York and Paris. Air FranceAmerican Airlines, and Delta Air Lines operate numerous daily flights between JFK and CDG, while JetBlue will begin operating the route next summer. Air France also operates flights to secondary airports, with daily flights to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Paris Orly Airport (ORY). United Airlines also operates flights between CDG and Newark.

According to Norse Atlantic, its new service to JFK will depart Paris at 7:45 PM local time, arriving at JFK at 10:00 PM. The return journey will take off from New York at midnight, touching down in Paris at 2:05 PM the following day.
