Hilton Adds Netflix Streaming via Honors App
Guests in Connected Rooms can log in to their Netflix account and stream via the Hilton Honors app
Hilton has added a new benefit to its Hilton Honors app for guests staying in the group’s fledgling Connected Rooms concept.
Customers can now log in to their Netflix account via the Hilton Honors app, and stream content onto TVs in Connected Rooms.
Hilton launched Connected Rooms in 2017, and currently offers the service across 1,800 rooms in ten hotels in US locations including California, Georgia, Texas, Florida, New York, Tennessee, Mississippi and Washington.
The group plans to grow this to “tens of thousands of rooms in hundreds more hotels across the US in 2019”, as well as launching the technology in the first non-US locations.
As well as Netflix streaming capabilities, the concept allows guests “to personalize and control every aspect of their stay from one central point”, including controlling the temperature, lighting, TV and window coverings.
Commenting on the news Noelle Eder, executive vice president and chief information and digital officer for Hilton, said: “We know our guests want to feel connected while traveling, just as they do at home, so we’re giving them seamless access to their favorite Netflix shows, films and specials while on the road. Inspired by 100 years of innovation, we continue to find new ways to meet the constantly evolving needs of our guests.”
Guests who prefer not to use the Hilton Honors app can also access Netflix content by pressing the dedicated button on their TV remote control, which will take them to the log-in screen.
