Kimpton St Honoré Paris Sets Spring Debut

The 149-room property is in Paris’ Opera district in the converted Samaritaine de Luxe department store

Intercontinental Hotels Group has announced the debut of its Kimpton brand in France in the coming months, with the opening of the Kimpton St Honoré Paris.

The property, set in Paris’ Opera district, will open this spring in the converted Samaritaine de Luxe department store on Boulevard des Capucines. The building’s 1917 Art Nouveau façade has been restored, along with features like the property’s staircase and “unique elevator.”

The 149-room hotel features 24 suites, an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa, a California-inspired restaurant and bar, and a rooftop terrace bar with 360 degree views of the city.

Rooms feature balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows and “thoughtfully-selected works of art” gracing interiors created by French interior designer Charles Zana inspired by 1930s Art Deco.

IHG purchased Kimpton in 2014, and has gradually expanded the brand across North America, as well as in Europe and Asia. Recent additions include the Kimpton Aluna Hotel in Tulum, Mexico, and the Kimpton Da An Hotel in Taipei City.

IHG is currently developing Kimpton properties in destinations cities in Mexico, China, Hong Kong, Germany, Bali, Malaysia and the Netherlands.

“We are thrilled to be delivering Kimpton’s philosophy of relaxed, stylish and uniquely personal service with this magnificent new flagship hotel,” said Jean-Paul Dantil, general manager of Kimpton St Honoré Paris.

“The opening of Kimpton St Honoré will bring with it a refreshing sense of joie de vivre, reinvigorating a building associated with traditional luxury and infusing it with a modern approach to indulgence which welcomes, acknowledges and celebrates the individual without the fuss.”
