Luxury hotel group Four Seasons has announced the opening of the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans. The property features 341 rooms and suites, and is situated on the Mississippi waterfront within walking distance of the historic French Quarter, the central business district and the warehouse arts district.
The hotel is located at the foot of Canal Street in the historic 34-story World Trade Center, which also houses 92 fully-serviced Four Seasons Private Residences, where guests can enjoy access to the same facilities as hotel guests. The property is close to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, with direct access to the city’s streetcar line and just 20 minutes from the Louis Armstrong International Airport.
In a city celebrated for its food, the hotel has partnered with local chefs for its dining concepts. The Chandelier Bar features year-round live music and a garden patio. The lobby level is home to Miss River, a restaurant overseen by acclaimed chef Alon Shaya which includes fresh takes on New Orleans classics.
In the fall, another restaurant, Chemin a la Mer (“pathway to the sea”), will join the lineup. The menu from chef Donald Link features steaks and seafood prepared with French cooking techniques. The restaurant will also have a grand oyster bar, and panoramic views of the Mississippi.
In addition to nearly 30,000 square feet of events space, other features of the hotel include indoor and outdoor observation decks on the 33rd and 34th floors which house a “state-of-the-art cultural exhibit.”
This fall the hotel will also open a crescent-shaped rooftop infinity pool, a 24-hour fitness center and a spa.
The New Orleans opening is part of Four Seasons’ strategic plan announced at the beginning of 2020 to expand its global portfolio. The expansion included new and renovated hotels and private residences in Asia, Europe and across the US.
“New Orleans is a destination that has long been on our wish list,” said Christian Clerc, president of global operations at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “The transformation of this truly iconic building is stunning, and serves as a wonderful addition to Four Seasons portfolio of exceptional properties.”
