Alaska Airlines Debuts New SFO Lounge
The carrier’s San Francisco facility joins seven other lounges now open across the United States
Alaska Airlines has announced the debut of its new 9,200-square-foot lounge at San Francisco International Airport. Designed around a theme of Bay Area art and amenities, the facility is centrally located in Terminal 2, with easy access to popular restaurants and retail options.
At the entrance, guests are greeted by a gallery wall featuring fine art designed by local artists, and the main space features Offshore, a painting by American artist Anne Neely that reflects climate change and water, embodying Alaska’s commitment to environmental responsibility and communities.
Food and beverage offerings include a bistro, a candy bar with Ghirardelli chocolates, Jelly Bellies and custom travel-themed fortune cookies, or the new sourdough toast cart, featuring San Francisco’s famous sourdough from The Acme Bread Co.
A full bar serves up complimentary Bay Area craft brews on tap, wines from local vineyards, and an espresso bar.
For the kids, there’s a children’s play area, decorated with San Francisco Giants art and the team’s mascot Lou Seal.
Complimentary access is available to Alaska Airline’s first class customers and select Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members, a benefit of the carrier’s integration with the alliance’s status program.
Annual lounge memberships are also available, as well as day passes. Starting Oct. 1, standard membership with access to Alaska-operated lounges will start at $350 for elites, $450 for non-elites.
Alaska Lounge+ Membership with access to both Alaska-operated lounges and more than 90 partner lounges will start at $500. Current memberships will be grandfathered into Alaska Lounge+ until the next membership renewal.
Day passes are available for $50 and customers who pay with their Alaska Airlines Visa Signature receive a 50 percent.
The SFO lounge joins seven other Alaska Airlines lounge locations, including three in Seattle (C, D, North Satellite), Portland, OR, Los Angeles, New York JFK and Anchorage.
