The Lounge

Designed by Enrique Concha and Grupo Arquitectos, the lounge showcases a blend of elegance and modernity. Upon entering through tall white columns, guests are greeted by a spacious salon adorned with chandeliers, marble accents and wooden finishes. The layout is carefully designed, featuring various seating areas. Comfort is a priority, with amenities such as a large TV room with separate seating, wireless charging stations at every seat, and cozy nooks furnished with chaise lounges and recliners.

The most visually striking element is the central bar. Its circular design extends from the ground to the ceiling of the two-story-high room, creating a dramatic focal point.

Food and Beverage

The culinary offerings are as impressive as the design. Two large food stations serve a variety of hot dishes and salads. Guests can savor delights such as roasted eggplant chili, native potatoes, beef tenderloin steak au gratin with blue cheese, ricotta and walnut ravioli, and roasted chicken breast with citrus sauce. The salad bar boasts tapas, while a cold cuts section features an array of hams, salamis, cheeses and snacks. For those with a sweet tooth, fridges stocked with Häagen-Dazs and Magnolia ice creams and desserts are readily available. Beverage options include a range of sodas, sparkling waters, coffee by Juan Valdez, and an extensive selection of teas. At the central bar, bartenders serve an impressive selection of Chilean wines and cocktails, including the signature LATAM pisco sour, which proved to be the perfect predeparture drink.

Amenities

Despite its size, the lounge offers a tranquil environment. The restroom facilities are exquisite, with marble finishes, LED mirrors, touchless toilets and spacious shower stalls. Baby-changing rooms and ironing services are also available. For families, the lounge provides interactive games with educational themes on recycling and reforestation. Single-use plastics are minimized throughout the lounge, reinforcing LATAM’s commitment to sustainability. Practical amenities include lockers for hand luggage, sleeping areas, and coworking spaces. This makes the lounge not just a place to relax but also a functional space for work and refreshment.

Verdict

The LATAM Lounge in Santiago sets a new standard for airport lounges in South America. Its blend of sustainability, luxury and thoughtful design provides a true haven for international travelers. The extensive range of amenities, diverse culinary options, and serene environment make it an indispensable part of the travel experience.
