February 5, 2021

Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of the Radisson Collection Hotel Xing Guo Shanghai. The opening marks the Chinese debut of the Radisson Collection, the group’s premium lifestyle hotel brand, its first hotel in an Asia Pacific gateway city.

The property is situated in Xujiahui, Shanghai’s downtown business district, within 17 acres of manicured gardens, surrounded by historical villas, 1930s Art Deco buildings and picturesque avenues. The 16-story hotel offers 185 rooms and suites, including the 12th floor reserved exclusively for female guests and a top floor Executive Lounge with 270-degree city views.

Food and beverage options include four restaurants and bars, including an award-winning Chinese restaurant and a lounge that serves up handcrafted cocktails and fine wines. Events can be hosted at a choice of eight venues, including a ballroom and pavilion, and the fitness center features state-of-the-art equipment.

The Radisson Collection brings together iconic properties in inspiring settings around the world, including Brussels, London, Rome, Copenhagen and Moscow, with future openings set for Paris, Milan, Cairo, Budapest, Venice, Sri Lanka and Queenstown in New Zealand.

In December, the rapidly expanding hotel group premiered the first property in Africa under the Radisson Collection brand, when it opened the 200-room Radisson Collection Hotel Bamako, Mali.

After its China debut in Shanghai, the portfolio will add another property in China in the second quarter of this year when the newly built Radisson Collection Resort Nanjing opens its doors.

“This marks another milestone as we expand and project the brand’s robust growth in the region, further showcasing the group’s strong commitment to China. Radisson Collection Hotel, Xing Guo Shanghai will be an outstanding addition to this expanding collection of iconic lifestyle hotels,” said Katerina Giannouka, president, Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group.

“Radisson Collection is the home of distinctive hotels and resorts that are united by their uniqueness, and their ability to bring out the exceptional of their community,” added Gary Ye, Radisson Group’s vice president of operations in China. “This rapidly growing brand is suited to the world’s most storied cities, such as Shanghai, where a sense of history and romance enlivens every stay. We look forwarding to immersing guests in the sounds, sights, flavors and experiences of the hotel’s unique location.”
