IHG to Open Atwell Suites Near Austin Airport
Set to premiere in 2022, the 80-suite property is the third in the new brand’s growing portfolio
IHG Hotels and Resorts has announced a new Atwell Suites close to Austin Bergstrom International airport in Austin, TX. The 80-suite property, which is being converted from an existing hotel, is set to open in summer 2022.
The hotel will feature a two-story lobby with The Common – the brand’s signature public space designed to mix “private and shared areas to perfectly suit the transition from work to leisure.” Other amenities include a pool and spa, a bar and a free hotel shuttle to and from the airport.
Atwell Suites Austin Airport will also be located close to the city’s new Oracle headquarters and the Tesla Gigafactory facility, as well as Circuit of The Americas sporting and events complex.
IHG launched the Atwell Suites brand in 2019, positioned in the upper-midscale segment somewhere between an extended-stay property and a select service hotel. With suites that feature kitchenettes and collaborative public spaces, the brand is “optimized for longer stays of up to six nights.”
Currently the brand has over 20 hotels in its US pipeline, with hotels currently under construction in Miami and Denver.
