Hyatt Regency Premieres in Cape Town

The Mother City’s first Hyatt-branded property offers 137 rooms in the Bo-Kaap neighborhood

Hyatt has announced the opening of the Hyatt Regency Cape Town, the first Hyatt-branded property in South Africa’s ‘Mother City.’ The property was formerly the Hilton Cape Town City Center which closed in July, and has undergone extensive renovations to the 137 guestrooms and public areas.

The hotel is located in the trendy Bo-Kaap neighborhood only a few minutes from Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront and Robben Island Ferry. Food and beverage options include 126 Cape Kitchen & Café, which offers Malay and Indian inspired cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The poolside Signal Hill Terrace features bar service and a light tapas menu along with iconic views, and the grab-and-go market gives busy guests an array convenient choices. In addition to the pool, the hotel also offers a fitness center.

Meetings facilities inlcude seven technology-enabled meeting rooms and two board rooms, together expert staff to help with planning details.

Hyatt has been on a global growth trajectory, despite the pandemic-related slowdown in travel. The group has announced expansion plans in the Americas and most recently in Europe, where it expects to grow its brand presence by 30 percent by 2023.
