There’s an App for That
A new app called AirlineCheckins, developed by Lufthansa Group’s innovation unit, promises to automatically check users into flights on any airline that offers online check-in.
Once travelers sign up for the service, according to a Lufthansa statement, “you will never have to worry about checking in again.” The statement said that passengers will be able to use the app to monitor the check-in status and manage their flights at all times.
Personal information, including seating preferences and frequent flyer programs, can all be updated in the app. The app also has an alert feature that automatically notifies users of the current flight status and any gate changes. As the app continues to evolve, the statement said, users will soon be able to have access to airport lounges and obtain free WiFi access onboard.
