IHG Folds Regent Into Loyalty Program

IHG acquired a 51 percent stake in Taiwan-based Regent Hotels last year

InterContinental Hotels Group has announced one of its recent acquisitions, Regent International Hotels, is now part of its loyalty program, according to a tweet published by the IHG Rewards Club Twitter account. IHG bought 51 percent of Regent International in March of last year and has the option to purchase the remaining shares in the Taiwan-based company.

The announcement follows last week’s news that Marriott International has incorporated its loyalty program together with that of Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, two firms it now owns, under one new umbrella called Marriott Bonvoy,
